The Format:
Mix 96 has been broadcasting as an Adult Contemporary radio station since 1989 and is Sacramento’s Soft Rock station playing great music from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and today. Some of our most played artists include Elton John, Rob Thomas, Rod Stewart, Madonna, Eagles, Kelly Clarkson, Billy Joel, Jewel, Fleetwood Mac and Sheryl Crow. We also play great new music by artists like Gwen Stefani, Carrie Underwood, Nickleback, John Mayer and Daughtry.
At Mix 96, we specialize in playing Soft Rock with less talk for the workday, starting with a more-music morning show. The workday also features a commercial-free kickoff at 8:30 and ends with a commercial-free hour at 5pm.
At night, Mix 96 has a special blend of Soft Rock especially for relaxing and romancing. “Nite Mix” runs every night of the week from 8 until midnight. Saturday’s are especially fun with The Mix when we feature great songs from the 70’s all day long!
Technical Details:
KYMX broadcasts with 50,000 watts of power and covers the entire Sacramento region, from Stockton to Marysville, from Placerville to the Delta. Our transmitter is located just across I-5 from the Sacramento International Airport. You can see the tall tower from the freeway.
Our studios are entirely digital utilizing the latest state-of-the-art computer technology. All the music you hear on KYMX is stored on computer hard drives, to preserve their original quality.
