Account Executive

Job Description:
CBS RADIO is one of the largest major-market radio operators in the United States, with stations covering news, alternative rock, country, FM talk, classic rock, oldies, JACK and urban formats, among others. A division of CBS Corporation, CBS RADIO operates 147 radio stations, the majority of which are in the nation's top 50 markets. The overall mix of each radio station's programming is designed to fit the station's specific format and serve its local community.

CBS RADIO continues to make aggressive moves to converge new and traditional media through creative programming and advanced delivery methods. Audio streams of more than 100 CBS RADIO stations and custom channels are currently available online, and a third of the Company's stations are broadcasting in HD digital radio. CBS RADIO also launched the world's first podcast programmed radio station, KYOURADIO, and offers more than 100 regularly scheduled podcasts through its news and news/talk stations.

We are looking for experienced sales professionals to develop and sell advertising and marketing campaigns to new and existing clients. Responsibilities include soliciting new business through prospecting and cold calling, managing and growing existing assigned accounts/budgets, identifying clients’ advertising needs and developing and presenting customized solutions to meet those needs. These individuals are also held accountable for achieving sales budgets and collecting on the accounts.

Responsibilities include:
• Contact prospective customers to sell radio time for broadcasting station/network.
• Maintain account lists and soliciting new business.
• Develop proposals utilizing MS office products, Tapscan, Max$mizer, etc.
• Prepare promotional plans, sales literature, and advertising proposals.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients by providing top quality service.
• Investigate and resolve customer problems.
• Communicate with other departments to assure quality service in placing orders and arranging promotional events.
• Responsible for exceeding sales budget and collection of sold accounts.
• Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and client remotes.
• All employees are expected to bring a positive attitude to the work place and be cheerful, cooperative and productive and to perform other such duties as may be required for the efficient operations of the stations.

Requirements:
The successful candidates must possess exceptional communication, presentation and negotiation skills. They must be self-motivated, goal driven and creative, with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. All employees are expected to bring a positive attitude to the work place and be cheerful, cooperative and productive. In addition, the right candidate must have:
• High school graduate; college preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience in sales/marketing; previous radio sales experience preferred.
• Must also have basic knowledge of MS office products, i.e., MS Word and Windows environment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance.
